My Everyday Make Up Routine
I’ve always been obsessed with make-up. I used to, and sometimes still do, spend my days watching the same three Beauty Gurus on Youtube, reading every Bobbi Brown and Lauren Conrad book on make up out there, and trying (and failing at) thousands of different make up and hair looks. Eventually I finally got the hang of it, aka controlled my eyeshadow obsession, and got really good at doing my make up and hair. No matter how many crazy looks I tried, my everyday make up routine has stayed almost the same, but with much needed improvements. Here it is.
First I blend a pea-sized amount of my Zelens Satin Primer all over my face and neck.
On lazy days I go straight to concealer, but if I’m up for it, I always go back and forth between two foundations: Tarte Amazonian Clay Powder Foundation, along with its brush or Make Up Forever Ultra HD Foundation. For liquid foundation, I dispense two or three pumps on the back of my hand, and apply it all over (don’t forget the neck!!) with a beauty blender.
Then I go on to concealer. I always use the same one and it will probably stay that way forever. I know it seems expensive but I swear it’s so worth it. Cle de Peu concealer is considered the best concealer out there (for all skin tones and types!!) not just by me but by most beauty magazines and stores.
Next, a crucial step for me, bronzer. I apply NARS Laguna Bronzer with either a kabuki brush or a fluffy, angled brush on my temples, hairline, the sides of my nose, hollows of my cheeks, chin, and neck.
The same reviews I said for the concealer go for the usual blush I use, NARS “Orgasm.” I smile to find the apple of my cheeks and apply blush with a flat blush brush.
Another step and product that I have used forever: Benefit HighBeam. It’s the perfect creamy, pearly highlighter and I swear by it. I apply a light stroke on the bridge of my nose and cheekbones and a dot on my forehead, chin, and cupids bow. Then I blend it gently with my ring finger.
As I mentioned I love eyeshadow and have tons of looks nailed down, but for everyday make up I have two essentials.
With a fluffy shader brush I apply all over my lid a light gold shadow like “Half Baked” on the Urban Decay Naked Palette or if a pink tone goes better, I do the same with either “Dust” or “Trick” from the Naked Palette 3.
For mascara I have a special method I’ve used for years. I use Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara and apply two coats, alternating eyes, and making sure I elongate and separate each lash. Then, I close my eye and do one last coat on the tip of the lashes, and with the remaining product I lightly coat my bottom lashes.
I like to gently fill in my brows with Hourglass Arch eyebrow pencil.
After some lipgloss, or usually Rosebud Perfume Co. Minted Rose lip balm (essential), I dust some Make-Up Forever HD Translucent Powder and off I go!
I don’t do my make up every single day, I love it but to be honest sometimes I’d rather sleep an extra couple minutes, but when I do it, this takes me around ten minutes or so. This routine is so basic for me, a lot of times I do it for going out too, I just amp my eyeshadow game. You can see below the products I mentioned, and click on their name to buy them for yourselves!
