B’s Currently In: Miaou — B Currently In

I first saw this brand a year ago in NYFW and instantly loved it. It felt both retro and new at the same time and surprisingly didn't have those 4-5 digit prices as brands shown in NYFW often do. When I researched the founder, Alexia Elkhaim, and what her purpose with the brand was, I loved it even more.

Elkaim first came onto the scene in 2016 with her curve-friendly denim jeans that featured a wallet chain and rope belt looped through the waist. The photographer-turned-designer created a line of bottoms that not only provide comfort, style, and durability, but flattery and definition for all body shapes and sizes.

"I grew up in fashion and always felt that is was a really exclusive industry. Creating my own path in an industry that shut so many doors was an opportunity to fix a problem."

On top of all that, she was born in Paris, grew up in LA, and currently lives in NYC, is that not goals or what?

To end it all, when I first started interning at Moda Operandi, I noticed they sold Miaou, including a pair of shorts I'd been obsessed with since I first saw them on NYFW, and trust me, it wasn't the only thing! I knew that was some sort of sign on all sides of the spectrum; that Miaou was going places, that I have an awesome internship, and of course, that I should get the shorts!
