Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

What's In My Bag?

What's In My Bag?

When I was younger and obsessed with Beauty/Fashion Gurus on YouTube, some of my all time favorite videos were the “What’s In My Bag” videos. I was just obsessed with seeing what people carried in their bags (in the most un-creepy way possible) and could not wait to be older and actually have stuff to carry in my purse. Since being in college and living in the city, there’s finally more stuff I have to carry. I love organizing my purse every morning and I even have a separate pouch for little important things and necessities. So after years of watching “What’s In My Bag Videos” and thinking how mine would be, although this isn’t a video, the time has come for me to do my very own “What’s In My Bag” blog post!

The Bag

For the past two years, almost everyday of my life I have been using the Balenciaga Classic City Bag in black leather as my school/go-to bag.  I know it’s pretty expensive for a school bag, but I got it never-been-worn, half off on E-Bay and it is one of the best investments I’ve ever made. It’s big enough that it fits my laptop, notebooks and essentials but it still has a long strap and it’s extremely versatile. Check out the bag below and other good everyday bags.

The Pouch

I think out of everything I own, this is the item I have used the most in my life. I believe it’s originally an IPad mini case, but I’ve used it in every way possible, from clutch to emergency pouch inside my bag to a make-up travel kit. During the week for school when I have my big bag, I like to use it as a pouch for little essentials so they’re easy to find. Below is the pouch I use, other options (I also use the  Glossier bubble pouches a ton when I travel) plus what I carry in it.

Notebooks

This year for notebooks I knew I wanted something pretty but also small for those times I want to be able to carry a smaller purse but I still have to take my notebook/s to school.  I've always loved Moleskine and they recently came out with limited edition Rolling Stones notebooks so these couldn't be more perfect for me.

Wallet

My mom handed me down this wallet right when she dropped me off in Paris and although I have a bigger one, this one I use the most. It seriously could not be more perfect, it has two sides divided by a zippered pocket for coins and it has four card slots but sometimes I put in more; it's soft enough where you can have it pretty full while still being light and sleek.  I think a good wallet is a great investment, it's fine splurging on it since you use it everyday and a good one could last you forever.  Here is the closest I found that looks like mine plus other options at various price points.

Water Bottle

This is another thing I never leave home without! I'm constantly drinking water through out the day and it gets to a point where it's too much plastic waste. These are amazing, they keep your drink perfectly cold or hot throughout the day, it's sleek and comes in so many different colors, prints and you can even personalize them!

Swell Water BottleThis is a 17oz bottle in one of their most popular designs.  $35.

AirPods

Yes, I  succumbed and got the Apple AirPods... At first I wasn't interested at all but the earbud jack on my laptop stopped working so wireless was my only option. Now I'm obsessed, they are so easy to use and I find they only need a little bit of charging so that's not a hassle at all.

Finally, besides all of that stuff, I definitely never leave the house without sunglasses (rain or shine) and I like to take a good book to read on the metro!
